The Workshop on Marine Robotics "Looking into the Crystal Ball: 20 years hence in Marine Robotics" (Eurocast 2013) took place in Gran Canaria (Spain) on 11th-13th February, 2013. The TRIDENT project participated with the paper presented by Dr. Pere Ridao "From Survey to Intervention: The challenges of 3D Mapping for Multipurpose Intervention" and the paper presented by professor Giuseppe Casalino "Control and Coordination Problems in Underwater Intervention Robotic Systems: Current Results and Future Challenges".

Professor Pedro Sanz has been invited to the 15th International Conference on Advanced Robotics (June, 20-23, 2011), where presented "The Integration of Autonomous Manipulation Capabilities in Underwater Intervention Systems: A Case Study Based on two Ongoing Projects (FP7-Trident and the Spanish-RAUVI)".

Professor Gabriel Oliver has been invited at the Institute for Software Technology, University of Koblenz-Landau to give a lecture on computer vision for autonomous underwater intervention. The event took place on 14th June 2011 at the Computer Science Faculty organized by the Operating Systems, Real-Time Processing, and Parallel Systems Group.

A special session has been organized in the 52nd International Symposium ELMAR-2010 (15-17 September 2010, Zadar, Croatia) by the coordinator entitled "Increasing Autonomy in Underwater Intervention Systems", where all the partners are participating as speakers. 28th May, 2010

Dr. Marc Carreres (UdG) introduced the TRIDENT project under the title "Robots for the underwater world exploration" to high school students. This event was part of the "II High School Student's Technology Exhibition at Alt EMpordà (Catalonia)", which was held on 23th - 28th May.

Outreach at

On may the 20th, Dr. Xavier Cufi from the UdG team took part in the activity entitled "Imitating Monturiol" which was held in the Maritime Museum of Barcelona. During this activity he introduced to high school students how a submarine robots work and performed a very simple demonstration in a water tank using a very simple ROV build with PVC pipes and small electric engines taken from toys.
